Our Pastor

Pastor Mark Hasty

Pastor Mark Hasty has been the pastor of Mount Moriah and its sister church, Salem Lutheran in Jonesboro, since August 2016. Ordained in 1998, he previously served churches in Minnesota, Nebraska, Iowa, and Wisconsin.

A native of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Pastor Mark has a bachelor’s degree from Minnesota State University in Mankato, Minnesota and a master’s from Luther Seminary in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He serves on the Central/Southern Illinois Synod’s New and Renewing Congregations Committee and is active in the synod’s Southern Conference. His passions are for preaching, teaching, music, and finding new ways to communicate the Gospel message.

He is married to Paula, who serves as youth director for both churches. They have three daughters, Hailee, Serena, and Alyson.

Away from ministry, Pastor Mark enjoys writing, music, college football, old cars, museums, and cooking.
